Art Above the Tank

Lots of real neat ideas in this thread, and some real nice artwork.
Figured I'd jump in this pool, too.

Metal fish and crabs on the light rack is Haitian from recycled steel drums, mainly to hide the bit of wiring that was visible after hanging the lights from the rack. The fish on the back wall are sculpted metal from the Flying Fish Gallery in Chincoteague, VA. The painting and frescos on the left wall are from Chania, Crete, Greece - from "back in the day".
Metal sculptures are lit by 1W LED spots, and really put out a nice "ambient" light in the living room after the reef lights are off.
Cheers,
Ray

Love the metal schooling fish, saw similar at an art store in The Keys , wanted them badly but couldn't get it home.
And ah, Crete... take me back lol! One of our best vacations ever..

Love this thread. Ty. I seen a small musical item. Deer. Lots of fishy stuff. Too kool to see what everyone uses to decorate the area around their reefs.

I have some fish that a metal welder made and i bought at a frag swap. Ill get a pic of them later. They look like large angels with corals on stands. For now just glass pieces in my entry way where my tanks located.

Here are some more of my tank surroundings. Above the tank
are live “air plants” mounted on sandblasted grapevine branches. Just enough light to keep them alive and humidity from evap keeps them watered.

Lemon Shark, shot in Moorea FP on my old film camera, and Great Hammerhead taken in Bimini Bahamas on my newer one.

This is hilarious. A nice little reminder to the fish to appreciate their tank life and be happy they don’t have to spend their life dodging super predators.
