So I upgraded my G3 from a sedra 5000 to the 9000.

For the first few days, all was good. I was pulling pretty good skimmate for a new pump. In the last three days, the skimmer has overflowed.

I have the gate valve mod (only mod). Currently, the gate is fully open. I am bubbling almost to the top right now.

So, my questions:

1. Is this just too much pump for the G3?

2. Is this just the pump breaking in?

3. Should I go back to the standpipe and see if that helps?

4. Something else?

I have seen people that did this put a valve on the end of the air tube when they had the overflow issue and just dialed back the air a little. I had the G3 on my 75 but always ran the 5000 on it. Is it the fine bubbles that are at the top of the cup or more foamy?

It is a used pump, but new to SW (I cleaned it up) for now.

If it is just breaking in, I can live with it. Just don't like to see the muck it is pulling out put back into the system.
