Astrea Snail

I have 3 astrea snails and 2 of them have this strange white rod growing out of their shells which wasn’t there when I picked them up. Anyone know what this is or if it is bad or not? Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Pictures would help. I've seen both vermetid snails and feather dusters on a snail shell before.

Looks the macro algae acetabularia growing on its shell. No worries.
