Hey everyone long time lurker. Was wondering what height you have your fixture above your tank? I have a 24 inch deep tank. And just moved my light up from 10 inches above water to about 13.5 inches. And now my sps is starting to color up better. Thanks in advance for responding

That's odd. Were they browner before or bleached out before? Also how long have you had the light and how long have the acros been in there?

Mine are 2" below the surface and my T5s are 6" above that and everything is the color it should be.

Tank was setup in September. Acros been in since Dec. Light has been on tank since the start.

They were bleached out

Use a Par meter and that will determine what height you have your lights.
Any other way to guesstimate it? Par readers are pretty expensive and not everyone knows someone they can borrow one from or has a local reef club.

For example. If I have a 24" deep tank and want to run 2 blue+, 1 coral+ and 1 purple+ (ATIs) at what height from the water might be best? Especially using a canopy with Tek2 reflectors. I will also have 3 AI Sol Blues added to the mix. It will be a mixed reef but leaning mostly in the SPS and clam direction.

Thanks :)
