Morning all, I am going to set up an ATO using a 10 gallon aquarium, so I have a couple of questions, 1, should I put a top on it? 2 should I put a power head in it for circulation? I have never used one before, but I am going out of town for a few days in the fall, so I want to set one up.

Definitely cover it so nothing gets in it, I.E. bugs etc. Buy a cheapo glass top that allows for some room for tubes/power. No need for a powerhead since there isn't anything dissolved in it.

Since you don't need it till fall, test it now!

Yep! that is the plan, to set it up now so I can make sure all is good. Thank you for the response. The only reason I questioned the powerhead is 10 gallons of standing water

It's a good question, but since it should be RODI, we often keep several gallons prepped in our water mixing stations without movement :)
