Hello all,

I moved to a new apartment and none of the faucets have compatible fittings for an rodi unit. I have the BRS 4 stage and am trying to figure out if this bathroom water supply can be used. Thanks!

In residential areas, there are no difference between the water supply between different parts of the house. Your kitchen, toilet, and garden (most areas) use the same water source.

Plus even with a “dirtier” water source, RODI would work albeit might degrade the filter a bit faster

Sorry, I guess I didn’t word my question correctly. I’m more looking for a way to use my unit with this water source. Like an adapter, etc.

You will need to measure the diameter of the threads on the outlet of the valve in your photo, then reference to see if it’s 3/8” NPT, or 1/2” NPT… but, this funny little plumbing part is designed specifically for this application!

Amazon product

You should also buy plumbing Teflon tape, if you don’t have it already; these National Pipe Thread style fittings need 2-3 full wraps of Teflon tape to seal effectively!

Do you have a washing machine?

The hoses are the same as garden hoses.

There are adapters for garden hoses.

Yes. An Undersink Shutoff Valve is used in this application.

Also look at laundry hookups. I've added hose splitters off of them before for an easy temp. hookup if faucets won't work.
Those work get when teamed with a Hose Bib Adapter (which takes you from garden hose threads down to 3/8" or 1/4" quick connect). We stock both lead-free brass and poly.

So I measured the male thread (1/2") and am having trouble figuring out which adapter to get. I'm assuming the 1/2x3/8/1/4.

The threads on the outlet of the existing valve measure as 1/2”?

Or are these the threads in the inlet of the existing valve?

Perhaps you can get a close-up photo so I can try to just determine by eye?

Okay;

— 3/8” NPT has a max thread OD of .675”

— 1/2” NPT has a max thread OD of .840”

So, what you need is:

3/8”NPT X 3/8” NPT X 1/4” push connect!

This will install between the two parts you just measured, using Teflon tape (2.5-3 wraps) on both sets of male threads! (One existing male fitting on the valve, the other on the RO hookup adapter you’re ordering!)

This is great. I was scratching my head trying to figure it out. Thanks again!
