I got a nice large piece of this coral about a month ago. I did homework on it as far as care goes and seemed fairly simple. It's been great for a month and then about 4-5 days ago it started being ******. I didn't change flow or lighting, it has been glued in the same place the whole time. The only thing I changed was raising the salt level a bit because it was low but that was over a week ago. Params are as follows:

Alk 9
Cal 440
Mag 1300
Sg 1.026

I just can't figure out why it's ******, I did out new frags in lately but nothing within about 8-10". Any help would be appreciated from folks with experience with these corals.

I would take the sg back to 1.024 and get the alk to 8. Mine would look bad when those 2 items were to high.

It gets puffy at night when it's eating, it's just had the filament out for 4-5 days now and I can't figure out why.

I just noticed that didn't see the first time you are talking about the stuff in the mouths? Do you feed it how is the flow in the tank?

Flow was higher, lowered it some. It filter feeds at night so I assumed it just feeds itself when I broadcast feed. Does it need spot feeding?

I dont direct feed mine was asking to see if maybe it was getting fed too much and just letting out some extra or poop or whatever you want to call it. Just a thought. Was asking about the flow thinking maybe it wasnt enough to keep it cleaned off.
