Hi - when preparing for my project I spent some time looking for software that would help me create it to scale, understand how things would fit together etc.

I looked at several different 'freebies' and most of them were pretty bad. Fusion 360 however is incredible.

Yes the learning curve is a little steep as its the same as autocad, just a little less fancy, but it was more than worth it in the end and allowed me to 'see' my project and understand where things should go.

Only downside - your Free subscription will eventually expire (you can get 1 year though) - and its insanely expensive for a tinker kinda guy like me.

I only use it for 2D CAD/CAM design and toolpaths for my Plasma table - I have no training or background/work history with CAD/CAM and I picked it up fairly quickly with the help of my Father Inlaw (draftsman by trade).
