I was wondering if anyone has installed an automatic fleece roller in a waterbox 220.6. I wanted to try the reef mat but even the 500 is too large for my filter sock chamber. Any one had any success in these sumps?

Have a look in stead at the slim form factor of the Reef Factory ones? They should fit in your sock compartment no bother, and the app that comes with this unit is out of this world!

Alternatively, you can go with a Clarisea. Not a "smart" unit, but rock solid!

All the best..

Thank you!
Anytime! :) I am well impressed with the Reef Factory roller so far; definitely not a bad shout! They make three different sizes, so chances are that you can find one that fits.. If I remember correctly, they're only 15 cm 'thick'.

Best of luck!

It took a while to get here to the US from the UK, but man was it worth it lol. Thanks again for the advice. This thing works beautifully.

Where did you purchase it from. Any sites I've cube across have completely unreasonable shipping rates?

The Seaflower in the Netherlands. They were the only ones I found willing to ship internationally and you are correct. Shipping was $95. So far though I think it was worth it.

Reef factory and us dealers keep telling me in a few weeks but this this will completely change the sumps I'm working on. Is it actually capable of the advertised flow?

I've got it on a 180gal tank with a vectra M2 running around 85% and I haven't had any issues at all out of it so far. I can't speak beyond my own experience though.

Which model did you go with? How did you remove the filter sock holders from the sump to get it to fit?

I got the "M". To remove the sock holders and baffles red sea has a baffle removal kit. If I remember correctly it only coat about twenty bucks.

I also have a waterbox 220 but it’s not set up yet. Just looking at options as I would like to eliminate the socks before start up. Can you post a few more photos of how its hooked into your sump area please.

Some of their newer sumps are set up to accommodate a fleece roller I believe. I learned the hard way installing that flex line that a standard pvp 90 from lowes doesn't fit the pre fab piping properly. Here are a few pics though.

You will need a metric to standard 1" PVC fitting for Reef Factory rollers.
I just got a M reef factory roller for a 6025 pwninsula sump. No idea how to even start plumbing it. The stuff is metric, which I found out frustratingly. Anyway, the drain goes into a small section, then goes into the filter sock. No idea how to plumb it
