Guys,

I need some confirmation from someone that has implemented ozone on their system successfully as I am at a loss as to why my ORP continues to drop slowly - is this normal? I originally was at a value of around 260 ORP. I read a lot about ozone and watched many BRS videos about it so decided that I will take some risks and implement as I do have Apex w/ ORP probe to monitor, etc. Since I had this running, my skimmer performance seemed to have improved and actually do notice that the water in tank is definitely clearing up nicely, but my ORP has dropped from 260 to around 240. Should I be concerned?

thanks for the response. I have been closely monitoring this thread as it seems no one is running into this as this thread had no responses at all. Anyway, I do have another ORP probe in my RSM 250 that I was going to pull and try to put in my 210 gal with the ORP issue. I actually purchased a Poseidon 200 generator thinking that the cheap generator from amazon I purchased may not be good... still the same results! my ORP fluctuates between 240 - 250. I will say that I noticed my protein skimmer performance improved a lot though!

Below is a short description of the flow w/ equipment.

1. I have plumbing to outside, T off and into air pump (not air pump from you guys - I purchased a heavy duty one).
2. from air pump to air dryer - as shown in pic.
3. output of air dryer goes to a flow meter - as shown in pic
4. output of flow meter goes to an air valve splitter.
5. output of splitter goes to the INPUT of the OZONE GENERATOR
6. output of the OZONE GENERATOR goes into the OZONE REACTOR.

I wouldn't worry about orp. Mine was -100 for the entire cycle. Then went up. Then stayed low 100. Now it's at 300-350. Highest it has ever been. But I dont even care about it. Put it out wipe it down and put it back in. Could be micro bubbles.

I don’t even test/measure mine.

I use the Avast Ozone reactor with secondary carbon filter. All I know is that it works. Right after a cleaning I can’t even tell there is water in the tank.

thanks. I thought it was important to measure ORP to make sure it does not exceed 450 or so. I have apex and have the ozone generator connected to an EB8 output - configured to turn off ozone if it goes above 400. This is what I was expecting when I put this ozone reactor on my system! was surprised not to even see any rise, so thinking it was a waste to get it... but maybe it just takes time like anything else in this hobby to begin seeing results.
