More colony removal

I decided remove a couple more larger pieces, for more open look and make room for other colonies I want to grow larger. One was a Tri-Color colony on top of the center island, it was really shading out my Pearlberry. It was also getting stung pretty good by the Blonde Caroliniana, causing color loss and slowing growth.

Got lucky and was able to break off cleanly without any collateral damage to other colonies. It had some weight to it, and was around 9" in size. Majority of it was recycled back into the Calcium reactor.

A pic of center island after removal. The next colony was a grape ape mille, in the bottom left of pic beside the red monti. It was getting shaded out by Shades of Fall , and growing into the front glass was becoming a pain. It was about 11" in size.

Nice. Looks like you've opened things back up for fish to swim and stuff to regrow :)

You should see it person. It's a beautiful site. His care and husbandry practices are par no. His care to keep his system going is pretty amazing! His selection of corals complement his system with a unique balance. If you get you hands on any of his corals, you won't be let down. If your ever in Charlotte, it's worth seeing.
