No, this is the ammonia in the container that the live rubble is still in.An ammonia spike is normal for a cycling tank, give it some time.
Ah okayNo, this is the ammonia in the container that the live rubble is still in.
I plan on running a filter pad in the top of course, replaced 1-2 times per week. I don't really need to take out the media basket for that. I also plan on running a bag of carbon in the second chamber, which will have to be replaced monthly. So I'll only really have to deal with the groove once a month.Sounds like die-off to me. I put some live rubble from my LFS in chamber 1 and 2 during my cycle and think it helped--speculation only, of course. The catching on the groove was annoying though since the rubble shifts when you right it up to slide the media basket back in.
Yeah, so I'm concerned that the live rubble will no longer be helpful in cycling the tank and establishing a biome.Ah okay
Thanks for reading through. I plan on removing the black trim, I already bought an AI Prime 16HD, and already have an intank media basket.Great tank, check out my evo build thread, i truly love this tank and its footprint and AIO
Here's some suggestions i can give you!
I took a razor and took off that black stuff on the top, gives it a cleaner look.
Upgrade the light if you have it in the budget with a used AI prime, you will love that upgrade
Buy an intank media basket for either chamber one or two
