So I thought I had a single aptasia a few weeks ago, earlier tonight I noticed it had moved from its spot a few inches on the rock. Tonight i was basting away some algae on my rocks and I basted it away. Now it has appeared on my glass after lights out. I took this opportunity to suck it out with the baster. Being the curious person I am and having a microscope handy I decided to take a closer look at it just for sh*#s and giggles. Am I crazy or is this a baby bubble tip anemone!? It’s tiny, like maybe 1mm across, but it sure does look a lot like a itty bitty bubble tip… it even has a green tint to it. It also attaches to surfaces super quickly. The zoa plug it came on also came from a LFS that kept baskets of BTA’s in the same tank. I isolated it in a clear solo cup I cut to allow water exchange. I wanted to be sure before I tossed it as a pest or got excited about it being a BTA.
