I tidied up the sump area tonight with some wire duct. Now I need to do some water changes on the qts

Just incase anyone is wondering what the gate is for, it's to hold back the guard dogs. I made the gate a couple years ago and modified one section to fit the new stand, I'm thinking of repurposing the other section to cover the sump

The one on the left looks just like my mom’s dog.

sump area is looking very tidy and neat - nice and easy to see / get to everything. Do you intend on changing the sump itself out to a larger version? you mentioned aerlier it was an 'old' one - would be a shame to loose the visibility

I'm still considering my options, I might go with a 29 or a 30 gallon tank as a sump but I need to do some more measuring. For right now the 20 long works ok and doesn't overflow if the power goes out

I use the same surge protectors. For the price and form factor they really do work well.
I had some really cheap ones before that I probably never should have used, luckily they held up ok. I picked these up at best buy and so far I like them

I worked on the aquascape for several hours tonight, hopefully it looks good when the water clears

Looks good even with cloudy water. It now viewable from all sides correct? If so islands, like it looks to be, are the way to go. Makes viewing from all angles interesting.

Thank you! It is viewable from all sides, it made the aquascape extremely challenging, especially since it was already full of water, but I do love the look of an island tank also
