Went into my lfs today and saw a tank in their invert section that had a couple small 2-4” haddonis. I had him show me the pedal colors, unfortunately no gigs.

The carpet in the middle had a distinct ring that goes from the outside edge/rim and inwards in some areas. In the fluorescents, it was like a little present hiding. At only $40 it was an ok deal, I also had a trade with the manager whom I know so I had to give it a shot.

Reference pic for size after dipping in a very very diluted lugols solution as it was credit-carded off the bottom of the tank.

Nice find! Can't wait to see how large it gets in your tank!

It's always fun to buy these small guys to see what they turn into. I hope the outer edge of yours stays florescent green--that would make for a unique haddoni.

Not to say that anyone is saying that these are "babies" but IME size has nothing to do with age, they're not babies so-to-speak but might've just gotten smaller due to poor environmental conditions. I have a magnifica that I'm slowly nurturing back to health. It was once a 6" or so anemone that's dwindled down to 2" but is healthy. All of my carpets change size within a few inches or so.

Similar experience. I bought this mag that was full white. About 12” probably to get as much light as possible. Then, in my care it’s actually shrunk as it’s turning brown - regardless of high and feedings.
