Stay tuned! I am going to start out with fish only and base rock. I will eventually add in some softies. I want to keep things simple this time around.

Congrats...they are such good looking tanks. Good luck with the build.

First shipment of goodies are in! Also got tracking info for the tank and stand!

Trigger systems 5gal ato reservoir is in along with the Marine Depot branded 2 float switch ato kit!!!

Best float switch holders I have used yet. Super strong magnets for easy mounting and a top notch snail guard. Not bad for a "store" brand!

And the reservoir.

I want this tank to be as simple as can be. With my last tank I went all out with all the latest and greatest high tech equipment. Constantly changing it out for what I thought would make my tank "better". I eventually began to feel like I was keeping equipment, rather than keeping fish and coral. I had lost the true meaning of the hobby. I had put more focus on equipment selection than on husbandry.

I will be using basic equipment from the start, no fancy do all controllers with programs to write, just simple electronics that work out of the box.

With this tank, I want the fish to be the main attraction, not the equipment. I want to accent the fish with simple, easy to care for coral. I don't want this tank to become a chore, I want it to be enjoyable all of the time.

Maybe Im just a nerd lol, what do you all think?

Not being a nerd at all. It's easy to get wrapped up in the "system" and forget about why we're doing all of this in the first place. Your plans sound great.

Well thank ya! :)

Made it back home!

Playing around with the sump layout... Think I have a winner.

Dry fitted the plumbing. Do you have to glue the drains? There isn't any pressure, right?

Haven't hung the doors yet.

@tsav87 Congrats on the tank! I recently purchased a Cadlights Versa 42g back in late April. I'm seriously in love with the tank!
No problems with anything as of yet. Tank went wet on May 6th, so today marks it a month old since. I didn't glue any of the plumbing, no leaks at all.
I'm impressed with Cadlights, since they have had some negative reviews in the past. I bit the bullet and bought one, and not looking back ever since!

It is impossible to find uPVC pipe.

So I had an idea! The inside of the uPVC is 38mm, or 1.496 inches. Found some flexible tubing with an OD of 1.500". Perfectly snug!

Just the thing I needed to extend the drain's exit so that it would not be above the sump's water level.
