Anybody have a backup power source for the power outages. I'm trying to think of a safety for the p4 so the tank doesnt crash. We dont have much power outages but when we do it's a hour or less, but now after all the fires recently in CA the power company is shutting down power in strong winds a d fire danger days like today. A generator would be good but from my understanding. I'd have to be home during the outage which I work alot. And start it and move the powerbars to the generator. Is there any way to hook up the p4 so it automatically goes on by a battery or generator of some sort.

I have my home WiFi router plugged into a computer battery back up. Then over at the tank I have my Profilux 4, doser and KH Director also plugged into a computer style battery backup. When power goes down the Profilux notifies me regardless of the rest of the house. Also I can monitor things for a few hours as needed.

As additional back up, my Ecotech return pump and powerheads are also plugged into Ecotech battery back ups. These keep the water moving in a power outage. These last for about 8 hours.

If power is out longer I will plug into my RV generator.

This is my back up plan at the moment.

The one thing for the future is the next big purchase, a whole home generator that will come on automatic when power is out.

I have a generator that automatically comes on during a power outage. Mines not a whole house, just powers some of the circuits.

I also have my P4 and internet router plugged into small UPS, this way they never lose power.
