Can I power and control this ball valve via the DC24 ports on the apex?

forgot to attach the photo of the wiring/voltage specs. Looks like ac/dc 9-24v so that should work right. It doesn’t state how many watts it draws though. Or how many amps

Clearly need to drink some coffee this morning, totally missed that.

does that mean that it only draws less than 1amp, or it can only accept less than 1a.

Im sorry, my electrical understand is not good at all.

So if a power supply supplied 3 amps, the ball valve would still accept/handle that?

The DC24v outlets supply 7amps per outlet correct, or is that the acutely outlets that supply 7amps.

Yes The valve is going to draw less then 1 amp

Awesome. Thanks for both your help. Any way to calculate the wattage of the valve based on amps and voltage?

At 1A, 24W (P=VI) (24 = 24 * 1). For AC, that would be watts RMS (not peak watts)

Note that for motors or coils I’d expect power (current) to go up with voltage, but also torque. They usually present a somewhat constant resistance.

Manual states the 24VDC outputs are rated 30 watts, so that is 1.25 Amps, it should drive that valve.

I don't know how you would be using the valve but if there is a chance that valve could get fouled or jammed the current could spike much higher that 1 amp. I don't know if the EB832 has any protection on the 24VDC outputs but an inline fuse might be a good idea.

I suspect the power supply will simply latch off and start in hiccup mode, worst case. Ideally each outlet is current limited but when I last opened one, I don't remember seeing that circuitry. Memory could be faulty though.
