I just bought a pair of banggai cardinals today. The first time I bought banggais, they were picked on to death by my wrasse, but the wrasse is gone now along with most of my livestock following hurricane Milton so I decided to add the banggais and let them get established as my first fish.

One of the new banggais has some weird behavior where it thrashes its head. Is this indicative of anything? I've attached a link to a video of the behavior.

Head shaking and rapid breathing are signs of gill flukes if I'm not mistaken.

What are you feeding? Looks possibly trying to dislodge something too large that it ate. Or neurological problems!

this wasn’t happening when you picked them up at the LFS? or was this an online purchase
I didn't notice that behavior at the LFS and I watched them for quite a while to see if I could spot a paired up couple.

Haven't even fed them yet. They were still floating in the bag when I took the video

are they in a quarantine tank now? i’d avoid putting it in your main tank for the time being
I don't have a quarantine tank. I'm a college student and I barely have room for my tank and water containers as is. I have no other fish and very few corals atm though so if I need to move my CuC and do a whole tank treatment I can.
