I had one of my Banggai Cardinalfish pass away the other day. can u add a smaller one and hope the last cardinal fish won't beat it up?

Is it for the 125 gallon? If so, maybe that's safe. I agree that one is fine on its own. You have to get a m/f in order for them to tolerate each other as adults, but a 6' tank might be enough room?.

If the survivor was male and you add another male it won’t work out for sure. And sexing them is tricky.
i tried twice to add a second bangaii and both times my first one killed them. I’m done trying. My tank is 250g.

I had one kill the other the first night in my quarantine tank
