Hi I just started reading this Thread. In the beginning it was stated that they (Banggai) eat peppermint shrimp! after nearly 5 years in my tank that is how mine perished. I woke up and saw my Banggai with a big shrimp stuck in its mouth! the shrimp was dead so I dont know if he killed it or not. shortly after he/she died and then a few months later his mate Banggai died mysteriously (was doing well and eating and then gone)...

Congrats on the pair and the spawning Marvin!

Have you had any luck feeding them pellets yet?

I'm not really sure. I know that they hold the eggs for 4-5 weeks. it's about that time so maybe the eggs hatched already?? t

It's been a really long time since I had my pair but I think it is 28 days was about average.
And, yeah them are babies peeking out

Thanks. the female eats anything I feed the tank with, including pellets. the male on the other hand is a little picky. I've only seen him eat frozen but the last few weeks he hasn't eaten. I'm sure he's starving by now. I hope he gobbles up anything when he eats and I hope he doesn't eat way too much after the long diet. LoL

Oh dang.
That's awesome man.
I picked up 3 a few months ago. One died within 3 days, but the other 2 are alive and well. These guys go after pellets like crazy so I think I lucked out.

Thank you. good luck with your ones. hope they pair up and you'll get to experience them spawning and having babies in the tank. that's great that yours eat pellets. :)

Thanks. :)

Is the little one still alive and kickin? If he isn't cute, I don't know what is. He must be getting food from somewhere, he looks fat and happy. Or just fat, seems a little concerned actually hiding out in the nem. ;)
