I’m dealing with a pyramid snail problem and I’m also in the process of moving my tank to another room. Would it be a good idea to go bare bottom after the move? I was thinking it might help me get the snail problem under control. They are a squamosa and derasa both under 4” and sitting on the sand bed.

I mean, snails will pretty much go wherever there's a food source...
I was hoping my six line wrasse would be able to spot them if they had less places to hide.

Pyramids are nocturnal, so fish are never a good solution for their removal. You need to remove all your snails and isolate the clams if you can. Inspect them every night to remove any pyramids that are on the clams. I isolated my clams in the sump in a small elevated container that was fed by a small pump. This greatly reduced the chance of the pyramids making it into the container. I would swap out the substrate in the container once a week. It took a long time, but I was able to starve out the pyramids. I had a spare Kessil, so it was really easy to light the clams in a shallow container. @OrionN outlined a pretty good method for their removal, so I would follow his method.

Is there anything I can dip my live rock into to get rid of the snails? I can scrub the clams before I move them to the new tank. I’m also planning on leaving the clean up crew snails behind in the old tank.

It will not stop them. Coris wrasse may eat them but physical removal with a 2" brine shrimp net will be best bet - same as you would do with asterina starfish

They are nocturnal, so you hunt them at night. They will climb up the glass and most likely be on snails or the clams. The only way is manual removal and starving them out. Check out the stickie thread in this section about removing them.
