Barebottom Detritus

Hello all. Looking for a few suggestions. My 50G Waterbox has been barebottom since a crash 8 months ago. It is my smaller, SPS tank. I have a lot of detritus accumulating under the eggcrate, and more severely, in the far side where the rock structure is against the wall. How do you all deal with this detritus? I have tried blowing it around so that it may get sucked up into overflows, but minimum success. I cannot get anything larger than airline tubing back there, should I rig this to some kind of pump (for suction)? Any suggestions on best approach?

Thanks, turkey baster too big to get back there. Can blow, but not suck. I have a pipette, but I’ll be back there for hours….

Yes, but colonies would be broken up…rather avoid if I can.

I love bare bottom but no egg crate just rocks on the glass. I dont know how I would keep egg crate clean. My detritus always forms piles that can be vacuumed out. I don't vacuum very often tho, partly because I'm lazy and also because the piles of detritus provide a habitat for worms and other critters that I don't mind.

Yeah I have an beige acrylic bottom siliconed to my glass for a natural look, but I'm not really too worried about what's going on behind the rocks in terms of detritus either.

Not being funny, but I was thinking whether flipping this type of apparatus over and blowing into it a few times would allow you to blow the detritus of out of the tight areas you were describing (?)

This is a good point. Should have thrown that in the original post. Is accumulating detritus even a concern? My nutrients are good (4 NO3/0.3 PO4), rock steady and right where I personally like them.

I guess I assumed that accumulating detritus could lead to various concerns.

There are a bunch of different types I have one that has a little pump on it but the diameter might be a little bigger than what you need.
