Can any Bashsea users out there help point me in the right direction?

I have a 6-18 media reactor. Ordered with hard plumbing upgrade. It arrived with dry cracked o-rings at the top, they don't hold water.
The big O-ring that seals the top, is also leaking.

I just need the sizes of the o-rings, so I can order some new ones. I've contacted the retailers who I bought the products from, they don't know, and just gave me a cell phone for Steve Bashsea, who I can't get a hold of.

I've emailed LFS, online retailers, and Bashsea to no avail.

It's not in the data sheets on their website :(

If you can find a Power Transmission store, a place that sells roller chain, bearings, gears etc.
Things used in a factory. They should have a big selection of "o" rings in stock, That's where I would start, along with trying to contact Steve.

Update, Bashsea responded, and they won't release the sizes of the O-rings used for "business reasons", but said they will sell me replacement O-rings.

Kind of annoying, especially since I'm buying parts that failed on a brand new unit, AND none of the retailers that sell Bashsea products are aware of, or sell o-ring kits, but whatever, glad I can get replacement. Ordered several backups.

Thought I would share the update.

Most O-rings are standard sizes and it isn't too hard to figure out what they are with calipers.

I would be pretty annoyed if a manufacturer tried to keep O-ring sizes a secret.

Most are only a few cents each if you order a dozen but manufacturers will sell you one or two for $5...

I've also made my life easier by upgrading some O-rings to silicone or urethane.

Update 2-28-2025:

While I was able to get a hold of Steve from Bashsea- he was a prompt communicator....and while I did order the O-RINGS, one month later, still waiting. They claimed to have sent them, but they never showed, now they have "re-sent" them.

At the end of the day, if the manufacturer is unwilling to share the sizes for "business reasons" they should at least make sure customers can get the parts for these things more easily.

Retailers don't stock them, Bashsea doesn't make them easy to buy, and they won't let you get them yourselves.

Pretty lame, considering a o-rings need to be replaced and serviced quite often, especially when the ones that came with the unit were CRACKED AND DRY! :angry-face:
