Yes I do, I did this with a small red planet frag on the other side of my tank and I like the growth structure so I figured give it a try with this frag and see how it turns out!

This is an interesting mounting style. When I had a Red Planet it really encrusted a wide base. Did yours do this on the glass, and if so could you post a picture of it? Id like to see what that looks like.

Oh, and how is the 'plug' attached to the glass? Magnet? Glue?

Got my corals today! The other 2 are from a previous box (replacement for 2 out of 16, got stressed during shipping and didn’t make it). It was the tiniest box I have ever received from Adam lol I’m always amazed by his corals. PE even in a dark box!

No ruler here so I guess I have to buy one tonight/tomorrow

Yea, they never even pulled into my lab. I asked the secretary and she said FED EX never showed up this morning. I got my box though!! I called and asked to speak to a manager and complained so he got someone to find my box and bring it to me. It was several hour late, but everything looks good. I’ll post a photo a little later.

Your frag might want to keep its polyps to itself! It's gonna need as many as possible to take me down! Look at that thing, not even big enough to reach the 0 mark on the ruler!:p

I would be curious to know if the mother colony that got hacked for this contest was under LEDs, Halides, T5s, or some combo thereof. If most of us post what light source we have over our new frags we could get an idea if those that were kept under the same type of light as the mother colony acclimate faster or if it doesn't really make much difference.
(I like how Adam offers frags grown under different light sources and I suspect consistency in that parameter would ease transition to a new tank...it would be interesting to find out if that is true or not)

This is a good point. I am running AI Hydra 26hd over my 180 where I placed the frag, but in a couple of months I hope to set up a small frag tank where I will be using T-5. I want to see for myself if sps grow better under T-5 before I change anything on the bigger tank.

My red planet hasnt made a wide base but it has encrusted some, I will take a pic tonight and post it, I had a good size colony of Green slimer mounted the same way about a year ago and it encrusted up the glass I'll see if I can find an old pic of that. The frags are glued to a pvc coated magnet that I found on amazon.

He’s holding my hungs for a few weeks to let it encrust. I’ve always had problems with fresh cuts in my tank
