Hi all!

About a month ago, I got a beach bum monti frag (for a $60 steal!) from a local reefer.
I let it acclimate to my tank on the sandbed for a couple weeks, then mounted it on the top of my rock along with the rest of the sps.
The color faded over the course of a couple weeks, to this dull brownish color.
I then took it off the rock and put it back on the sandbed, hoping that weaker light will help the color return.
I also started target feeding it a couple times a week and dosing brightwell coral amino as well.

Am I doing the right things?
Any tips on this keeping this monti?

Thanks everyone! :)

Stick it in a kind of shady spot and it will grow like crazy. Sometimes the bleached areas won’t recover but if there’s some survivng leading edge it will continue to spread and grow. (Fingers crossed for you).

Curious about this old thread. Did the beach bum recover in the lower light?
