Hello all,

I just acquired a customer 180 that was designed for the Bean Animal draining system. However I didn't know what was and hated the pve pipe hanging over the back and going back into the tank as the return.

So I started plumbing for a herbie and glue my return line when I realized that the tank wasn't designed for this.

Any suggestions on what I can do to to avoid cutting all of this pvc and starting over?

Thanks in advance

If you close both drain lines, and the return pump runs dry before the display tank overfills, then you can probably stick with your current plumbing. If the tank overflows before the return pump runs dry, you're taking a risk and a repair cost that would be a lot cheaper to just redo the plumbing.

If it was my tank I would redo the plumbing. Infact, I built my tank to have a bean animal drain. My return also comes over the top of the tank, but I used black pvc in the tank and made a spray bar with 1/4" holes. Now that its covered in coraline it's barely noticeable.
