Thought about adding a secondary tank to the system to put a ton of live rock to provide more natural filtration for the tank.

Anybody else do this for their tanks? Do you think it's helped in regards to keeping Nitrates down?

Thoughts?

My frag system has a similar set up, a section of the sump is all live rock, with no rock in the main tank. Rubble rocks allows the greatest surface area, and that is a fact, not JMO :)

Me too. There was a Spotlight within the last year that used this, ran one of those huge Rubbermaid trough like containers with a ton of live rock in it.

I was considering the same thing, adding a 100gal container, but then again, I really don't want to add another 100gal to the system. (more water/salt for bigger water changes)

Just grow it: Have you ever added CO2 to your reef tank?
