I’ve had this 12 gallon for around 2 years now and it is packed with coral. I’ve heard that emerald crabs will eat the algae but people also say they might eat small fish, which i am quite concerned about since i have a yellow clown goby. Is there any other options that will not harm my live stock?
Fish :
2 clowns (both two years old)
1 PJ cardinal (around 2 years old too)
1 yellow clown goby (i’ve only had him for 6 months)

Thanks in advanced!

Oh and i forgot to mention that for CUC i have :
1 cleaner shrimp
5 trochus snails
4 nassaruis snails

manual removal and a couple of emeralds is the only option IMO, don't think will hurt your fish.

I agree with @fishguy242 a couple small emeralds shouldn't harm your Goby from my experience. Don't get a 3 incher lol!

Also quick question. Do you have any advice for saving trachys? I’ve had this piece for months but then it suddenly started receding. It’s been like this for a couple days now.
Photo below under full cool white.
Parameters :
Po4 : 0.39 (still trying to lower)
No3 : 10 ppm
Ca : 450 ppm
Mag : 1350 ppm
Kh : 9 dkh
Salinity : 1.026

iodine dip 10 min, best you can hope for.

I was worried about emeralds going rogue and someone on here recommended pithos crabs. I got a few and holy cow I *definitely* recommend pithos crabs! They stay smallish (mine are around 1-1.5"), don't even look at my corals other than walking over them on their way around the tank, and they go to TOWN on the bubble algae! I've been really impressed with them.
