I’m planning on making a new frag tank next weekend curious what depth you guys think would be ideal. I’m thinking as shallow as possible with just enough room for an egg creat to hold plugs and to keep the largest of corals at least 4” underwater so flow can go over them.

Around 12 inches is what I'd suggest.

Coincidentally, today I was thinking about this very thing! I came across this poll:

I have several that range from 6 to 12 inches. They all can work fine but i would say 10-12" is what i would consider is ideal. Can always make your frag racks to sit as close to the surface as you want and just gives you more versatility in using them.

For me I feel 16 inch deep is best. Anything less when using a gyre pump seems to blow on corals to much
