#reefsquad gathering the best minds lol
Well, my mind isn't the best, but I will share my opinion. You are looking for dry rock, right? Not necessarily the fake, man made stuff?
I went with dry rock from Reef Cleaners (link) and I was very happy with it. It was also tough to beat for the price.

My 75 was put together using all Real Reef Rock. I loved it. Looks amazing from start to finish. I'm still using some of it in the new build. I also ordered from Marco Rocks and used their dry florida rock for the new build. I like it quite a bit too.

Yup! We may have even met at some point at the store. I never had a single issue with the rocks. PH was/is always rock steady (knocks on wood) and the purple only got better as real coraline covered over the fake color. Their rocks are all a little different even with the colors so it's not all uniform and fake looking. The one thing that's not too awesome is that if you break a rock it's obviously white on that broken edge, but will quickly be covered over in real coraline.

I second the Reefcleaners rock if you want dead rock. Hitchhikers aren't scary on Florida live rock. The stuff I got recently from TBS looks just like Reefcleaners rock except covered with life. A couple of unwanted crabs are easy to pick out. I never understood the whole hitchhiker argument. In thirty years of reefing I've never had an issue with live rock.

Looks great. What size tank is that and how many lbs. of rock did you purchase? Did you glue pieces together or just set and let gravity do the rest?

Thanks. It is a 120g, 72" long tank. I purchased 150 lbs of rock and used about 120 lbs. The bottom pieces are just gravity but I did use some putty to hold together the top pieces. Nothing elaborate.

I feel you. None of the common Indo species of pests live in the Gulf FYI. Dry rock is cool if you don't mind waiting. As far as aquascaping with Reefcleaners rock putty is hardly needed unless you are defying gravity with your structure. The stuff goes together like Legos.

I started out with reefcleaners rock and really love it, extremely porous and pretty jagged allowing rocks to lock together well. If i were to do it again i would probably go with tampabaysaltwater. It comes to you already purple and has a ton of cool stuff and life on it, i know this is another post of exactly the opposite of what you were looking for but its definitely worth a look, all of the forums have a TBS thread and if you go look i think it'll make a believer out of you, and if you look at the comments/reviews on the threads i don't think there's one unhappy customer, thats gotta count for something

Mostly I just buy from my own store. If I want something else, I tend to just order online, but that's usually just things that we can't get in.
