I have a 72x24x30H tank. Currently it has 2x MP40's on the left side, and a single MP40 on the right side. All three run in ReefCrest mode at 100%, with the two on the left side in sync and the right side in anti-sync with the left. Because I have a lot of rock, I'm concerned about dead spots. So I just bought a gyre type pump and wondered what the best way to set it up is.

Specifically, should I aim the output of the gyre into or across the top of the rockwork (kind of diagonally downwards since I expect to mount the gyre towards the top of the glass)? Or should I aim the output of the gyre across the top of my tank, 8 inches or more above the rockwork (basically parallel with the floor)? Please ignore the power cord from my heater. I was running a calibration experiment on it.

Yes, the plan is to put it 6 inches or so below the waterline. The question is do I aim the output parallel to the floor, or at a downwards angle towards the rockwork.
