I've got one coming. my plan is to try the stock light to see what it can do. my 40 is lit by halides and is running a calcium reactor I can keep the high light stony coral there, I want this thing for xenia, cespitularia and other neat soft corals. if the stock light won't do the job, I'll probably do an AI prime. Great light, great price.

Just depends on if your trying to keep the stock look or not. If not go with the prime. I decided to try to keep as much of the stock look as possible so I went with a Current Orbit marine plus pro. The 24" will fit with the hood and some minor modifications.

My wife has one,..been set-up for about 3 months. Everything is stock and LPS/Zoas/Mushrooms grow just fine under the stock light, I would not try sps. Here is a picture.

I bought the Current Orbit with controller option in the 24" size. You have to remove the plastic hood. The side piece can stay. I'm ordering an IM do it your self screen top holder now to put over the open area because I have a Dracula goby who is a major jumper. I've also considered having a sign shop cut me a piece of custom plexiglass for a classier look. I posted a video on You Tube to show how the Orbit/Current System sits on the Evo to give people ideas if they are thinking about that product. Search #littlereefergirl or Evo 13.5 + Orbit.

Following along as I'm looking for lights for a similar tank (IM Nuvo 10). I'll be using it as a coral/invert QT tank. Right now I'm thinking kessil a150 if I can find one for a good deal. That being said... It just being a QT tank, I'd like to find the cheapest solution that would work.

the lights are perfect on the Fluval, unless you are going for sps, clams, ect. If so, I like the ai prime or Kessil look on these tanks.

Your par meter is going up against 5 months of growth. "A man with experience is never at the mercy of a man with a theory."

Thought. That pick would clarify things but it only seems to muddle them. Point is, I have had excellent growth with softies and still believe sps would need more. I'm not wrong, I'm just not an elitist with lighting.

Thanks for that! What size is your tank? What corals are you growing? I'm going to be transferring LPS, zoas and a green nepthia. They've been thriving under a basic led light so a tad nervous as to how I'm going to acclimatise them....
