Best new clams for beginners ?

The Derasa is one of the easier clams, but they do get large. It doesn't have the super intense light requirements of some of the others. It does still need good lighting, but does good on the sand bed.

What type of lighting do you have and tank size? How old is the tank

I agree that derasa's are pretty easy. I have also found squamosa clams to be a good starter clam.

+1 on derasa.
Recommend at least 3 inch clam since smaller ones generally require target feeding.
