Actually, reading more closely through the thread above, other responders are correct. If you just want surface agitation then just aim one of your return nozzles towards the surface. The agitation is what will provide a lot of gas exchange and cycle the surface muck throughout tank and back out the weirs.

I think this may help you to accurately ask questions about flow in the future. ;) I think some of the responders did not understand that you meant powerhead, not airstone.

Airstone- air is injected into your tank by an external air pump.

Power head- a pump inside the tank uses a small propeller like device called an impeller to move water in the tank

Return nozzle- water flowing into your tank from a pump in a sump or in the back of the tank if it’s an all in one tank.

Where should I place my air stone? The red lines indicate the current flow from the valves at the top.
I was thinking the bottom right corner, since I think thats where the least water flow would be.
Let me know your thoughts and ideas!
FYI: the rock at the very top is no longer there, I decided it was too tall. It’s now in the bottom left corner at the front.

Use the air stone in your hospital tank when you get new fish.
