I have an API testing kit that ive used for some time. It always tests red which means very high nitrates for the kit, even though everything is acting normal in the tank. Whats the most accurate kit to use?

It will be very difficult, even using magnifying glass or microscope to find somebody on R2R forums to trust API test, with perhaps exception of crude testing for ammonia.
For Nitrates I would suggest Hana checker(same for phosphates), followed by Red Sea test, for other test, like dKH, Ca,Mg, Salifert of Aquaforest is my choice.
