Best way to seal wood against saltwater

I have a homemade stand under my 220g that I epoxy painted. Used the same epoxy you can buy to seal a concrete garage floor. Stand's 14-15 years old now, good as it was on day one.
- Home Depot or Lowes for lumber.
- Stain to color and allow to soak in overnight and remove remaining stain the next day.
- Apply several coats of polyurethane (I usually go 3-5 coats) for a glossy, furniture-like finish.
It takes some time, but in the end, the stand will withstand dump moisture, accidents and last decades.

That is certainly well sealed...!I've got nothing to add that's not already been said, except for what I pictured reading the thread title..
