Hi everyone this post is definitely playing some catch up but I wanted to start documenting my tank. A little bit about myself first I’ve been reefing since I was in 5th grade( 12 gallon nano cub) so I’ve been in the hobby 20 years. I’ve had 8 saltwater tanks over that time and I ended up taking a 5 year long hiatus. I’m back now and I’ve had this tank wet a year to the day( total coincidence)! Anyways I’m going to state where the tank stands today and then follow up with progress pics of the last year.

21 gallon waterbox
Radion XR15 G6
2 AI Nero 3’s
Bubble mangus protein skimmer
Stock return pump
Cobalt heater
Reef n roll filter roller
Fiji pink sand
Re-used dry rock

Fish:
Bangali cardnal
Possum Wrasse
Tail spot blenny

Welcome! Your tank sounds like it coming along nicely. Do you have any pics to share?

I edited my post last night with a bunch of pictures but it seemed to have made a bunch of new posts… I’m not sure how posting here works I guess lol. Here are two pics of the tank from yesterday

I love the progression pictures! Your tank has come a long way in a little over a year!

This past weekend I picked up two Acros. The big one was unplanned but the store owner was so nice I had to.

The tank finally turned a corner in my fight with hair algae. The tank was covered with it for months but with weekly manual removal I finally got it over the precipice and it seems like my clean up crew can manage it now. I’m going to start dosing aminos so I will follow up this post in a month to see if there was a difference for me.

Photo of the tank today. It is looking good, been dosing aminos for a month and a few of the corals started coloring up better. I have a very hard time having any nitrates or phosphates so I feed a lot. I don’t want to but I might have to start dosing them. Gonna have to frag the singulara soon as it’s touching its neighbors. I had a head of the torch detach last week and it got stuck in the monti which killed a bit of it but it hopefully will bounce back fast.

Just feed more! Dose more food not no3 or po4.
My 6 month old 15g nano cube runs zero no3 and .02 po4 with no issues. I run 3 sand systems 1 BB. All 3 sand systems run low no3 and po4. BB system is the opposite as I run a no3 reactor to keep n03 below 5.
Start of 15 and today 6 month in.

I already feel like I feed a lot lol, I’ll probably start broadcasting reef roids daily lol. I already do it like 3 days a week so it won’t be that much of a change. Your tank looks great by the way!
