Big Female Maroon clown

Hey guys I have a pair of maroon clown the female is almost four inches it seems like her gold strips are not as bright as the males some times they are very dark looking is this normal anyone know anything thanks guys

I'm doing water change tomorrow my tank is fairly new so there is diatom algae

stripes on gold striped maroons become darker and can recede with age. The darkening of the stripes could also be mood dependent. I once owned a large female with very dark stripe compared to the male

Seems like she is doing fine eats like a pig the male follows her everywhere and dance's in fornt of her his little shaking act she goes to the corner of the tank under my power and seems like that when her color changes may just be her age or or maybe lighting
