Hello-
Im sick of all my SPS kicking the bucket on me!So,I have come to the final though that it has to do with water quality. And that has to relate to nutrients in the water, which means water changes and Skimming isnt good enough.

So,I talked to a good SPS keeper, and he said I should check into some Bio-Pellets,but this is my conserns.

1)Can I grow chalices in my tank if I run Bio Pellets?

2)Will it shock my corals I have now if I start running Bio Pellets?

3)How do I introduce Bio Pellets to my system?

4)And down falls to Bio Pellets? If so,please list them.

Also my water params are as following.

Ca-420
Alk-9
Mag-1350
Temp-76(Low for SPS?)
Po4-.02
Nitrates-.5
Nitrites-0
Am-0

Let me know what I need to do here guys!

I'll start off by saying if your temp isn't bending to far below 76 like 75.5 it's ok I ran my temP there for years 5 to be exact also my chalices are doing great and I run bio pellets and dose vod/mb7 just introduce your pellets 1/4 the amount you system requires each week and there wont be any shock or bio-bacteria blooms also wouldn't hurt to dose mb7 for a couPle of weeks first also I've noticed better responses from my sps not running the effluent from the reactor to the skimmer or should I say running it Just into the sump away from the skimmer my sponge in my tank is going mad nice and sps are at full attention! All day

Thank!

Bump though!I know more than 1 person uses Bio-Pellets on their tank!

My chalices took a turn for the worse when I lowered my phosphate. If your reading is accurate phosphate and nitrates aren't high for SPS and they should bevthriving at those levels. I wouldn't run BP if undamaged to have ur levels. Downfalls would be possible Cyano blooms and possibly starving lps and also SPS.
