Now that i upgraded i have a my old biocube 14 sitting right next to my 38 gallon is it possible to use the biocube as a sump.. Idn if this would work but i was thinking to have overflow box on my 38 flow into chamber one of the biocube..fill chamber two up with chaeto and a light and have the hob skimmer on the side of the biocube with the intake in chamber 3 and a return into the biocube main display with another return pump from the main display back into the 38 gallon would this work or should i just spend the 150 on a sump

That sounds like it'd work to me. You could do a full-out macro tank/14G refugium for nutrient export and copepod housing.
