I'm getting a 14 gal biocube this week from a buddy of mine. I was wandering if anyone knows any tips or tricks with these tanks? It's an older oceanic one I'm getting it cheap enough that I want to put led retrofit kit or something in it. What else is good to get for these tanks? Skimmer? Uv light?

Take out the bio balls and maybe put some chemipure Elite or something in there. Do weekly water changes and you'll have no need for a skimmer or uv.

I have a Biocube29 and just upgraded to an Aqua Illumination Nano LED fixture. And yes, remove the bioballs from the back middle chamber. Throw some live rock back there, works kinda like a little refugium
