Hi all. I've been at this dilemma for over 2 months now on replacing the leds on my biocube 32 led setup. I'm not into sps. Lps and softies. The leds in this just don't make the colors pop at all. The whites are too white and sucks you can't dim them. Please, success stories on what you did without much or any modification like holes being drilled in the canopy. Reason why I chose the biocube i love the clean look and the look of the hood so I don't want to remove it. I've done 2 months of research and would like find personal experience. Thank you.

I have a Biocube but I cut the top frame off to make it frameless and made an acrylic top and back cover. The light I ended up going with to keep the cost down is the hypargero 78W. I love the color of it but the dimmer doesn’t keep proper time. I bent electrical conduit to make a custom light stand.

I’m very happy with Steve’s LEDs. Install isn’t bad at all and colors are great. Bluefish controller provides a lot of flexibility.

I have the iridescence booster which does ultimately require a mod to the splash guard. This isn’t too much trouble either but keep it in mind.

This is what I'll be doing, best light upgrade if you want to keep the lid.

I have been running Steve's LEDs in my BC32 for 3 years - great lights.
I didn't do the iridescence booster though.
What I have found while housing only LPS is the lower the light the better the corals like it.
Keep in mind with this setup the light is only about an inch from the water so it can be quite intense.
Easy install and the vendor provides nice support if needed.

Another vote for Steve’s LED’s... iridescent booster with Hurricane X controller...

Why upgrade? The stock LED lights are perfect for growing anything! Check mine out! I’m growing coral from softies all the way to the light demanding corals SPS. I saw PAR upwards of 300! Here’s the video if you’re curious
