I have a reactor with some carbon in it. But 90% of it is empty.

Is there any benefit in putting my biological media in there to create more flow over it?

I wouldnt suggest putting bio media in there since it makes cleaning a reactor even more work unless you plan on dumping said bio media when carbon is exhausted or willing to put the extra effort when doing maintenance.

Most of the time with live rock and sand theres more than enough surface area for bio filtration anyways
