Birdsnest looking bad

Hi guys, my tuxedo urchin decided he’d fancy a birds nest hat, so he stole my frag and was carrying it all over the tank. I found it fallen behind the rock half buried in sand. What can I do to reduce the damage?

I would just snip of the area growing algae, place it in a lower light area and let it be.
