Hello all. So I’m a member of a ceramic studio and spend quite a bit of time on the wheel. I have some pots the have been bisque fired but developed cracks and can’t be used or glazed. I was wondering if I rinse them well and after breaking them apart and put them in my sump would that be a good way to add more surface area for beneficial bacteria to develop. It is very porous and absorbs water but since it’s been bisque fired it will not break down any further. Do you all think it would be better than just regular dry rock rubble i imagine it would be a lot more surface area and a good way to get some use out of failed pots instead of just throwing them away. If it matters it’s Laguna speckled buff clay.
