I snagged a colony of palys about a week ago and saw a bivalve that had been covered by algae. I initially thought that it was dead, but just tonight saw that it was alive and open!

My questions are, what kind of bivalve is it? And does it need to be moved? I honestly think it's imbedded in the rock, and I don't want this to cause the bivalve problems in the future.

Bonus question: are the polyps circled palys, or are they a different type of coral?
