I know there’s lots of other posts regarding this. But I want to ensure my situation is the same before I toss this guy. All was well through the week. I woke this morning and saw some of the polyps hanging around by some zoas?? From reading it seems it was polyp bailout? Most of the torch seems to be okay. The one or two heads on the left not so much. I’m not really seeing any secretions coming from it? I see some brown but wishful thinking makes me believe it’s detritus or algae) maybe it’s an early stage? I’ll attach some media of me messing with it. Would hate for the rest of my torches to get sick and go.

Edit**
forgot. My parameters are:
1.024
Nitrates 8-10
alk 8.1
Phosphate 0.04
Calcium 400
Ph 8.0
No mag test kit at this time

Hard to tell. Is that the same area where the polyps bailed?
Sure is. They came off of a smaller newer head. I’m wondering it is was a flow thing maybe. The backside gets hit a little harder due to the return pointing down in its area. But I have 2 other torches there that are smaller doing just fine.

Not explicitly BJD from what I can tell. BJD resembles a brown cloud, kinda bubbly. The brown could be the brown flesh of the torch left behind after the polyp tore away. I’d keep an eye on it. If it gets worse, frag just the bad head(s).

Thanks. I do think you’re correct. I removed it from the rock into a lower flow area for now. And upon doing so was able to inspect it a bit closer. I think the return nozzle was just blasting the head directly. Will monitor it for the evil jelly.
Def not BJD…yet. It could develop into it so as mentioned keep an eye on it.

Just took a look at it tonight and I’m thinking it may have taken a turn.. if this is BJD can I frag one of the other heads to save some of it?
