How far should I keep it from my tank jus started a biocube yesterday so it still has to cycle but how far should my light be

Mine is 12 inches above water.

Depends on the light and the tank size/coverage. Normally the light manufacturer will supply a minimum distance.....from there it depends on a few other factors.

Really depends on the light. Some leds have a lens & some don't. I hang mine about 16 inches above my tank.

Ok so mine has lens so what would some of u reefers recommend in jus wanna be safe so when indo start to add coral the light is sufficient for them

I had mine about 10 inches above the water. then removed the lenses and lowered it down to about 4 inches above the water.

I find 10 inches to be perfect. Not too high but not too low that you have a hard time accessing the top of the tank. Plus there's no salt creep on the light.

It looks about two ft away, I would lower it half a ft to a ft
