Black tube on frag

So the pictures are not great but there is a black tube on the side of my rainbow Moni. There is also a few growing on the bottom of the frag. Are they a sponge or something I need to get rid of. I have had the frag for over a month and I left for the weekend and came back to this

+1 Break them off or glue them shut; a lot of reefers believe they can irritate corals. Personally I keep a few just because I like how they catch food by "lassoing" it.

Well I found a few on my snails and only this coral. I went tho and spent several hours gluing all the ones I found. My poor rainbow monti is mad because I went crazy and just glued all over his plug
